DFW AI Competition Kickoff & Keynote May 11, 2025
The DFW IT Association (DFWIT) announced the plan for 2025 DFW AI Competition. Registration is now open. The Open Ceremony will be on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Yanbing Li, the President of DFWIT, kicked off the meeting. Gerry Huang hosted the meeting as the Emcee.
Glen Fan, the Chair for Operations, and Jay Jianlei Zhang, Ph.D., the Chair for Technical Excellence, gave out the information for the competition.
Dr. Yu Meng gave a keynote speech, with the title “From Executor to Innovator: Shaping a New Mindset for the Age of Intelligent Agents”.
The details of the competition can be found on the website www.DFWIT.org. A video will also be available there soon.
This competition will grow participants’ skills and connections with resources. By joining the competition, people can turn their ideas into products and ventures. They could also get monetary awards, together with opportunities for mentorships and incubations.
Dr. Zhang outlined core themes, deliverables and judging criteria.
Among many insights that Dr. Meng shared, there were a few key messages. In the new AI tidal wave, AI Agents perform more and more human tasks. Competitive edge now depends on creative problem solving, not just technical execution. Mindset matters. Speed matters. Innovators should focus on problems first, tools second. They should take prompt actions, per Dr. Meng.
This event served both as a knowledge sharing and a networking function. People in the event had passionate discussions and Q&As throughout the event. Many of them became new friends.
With inspiration, support, and practical guidance, the 2025 DFW AI Competition is set to spark a new wave of AI innovators.
